2007/2008 Hockey Regular Season

March 25, 2008  Salzburg wins the championship for the 2nd year in a row.  It is unfortunate VSV played Salzburg in the first round as VSV was the only team in this years playoffs to take Salzburg to a final game of a series.  Perhaps if VSV had won the final game in the Salzburg series, we would be champions for 2007/2008?

Feb 25, 2008  Here is an article from one of Austria's largest newspapers just before the fifth and final game against Salzburg about Marc labeling him "Play-off-Marc".  See the attached article by clicking it once to show it in a new window and than click the picture again to make it full screen in your internet browser.  The translated one is on the right.

Feb 24, 2008  Marc lead his team with 4 goals in this 5 game series but it wasn't enough today as VSV went down to defeat in Salzburg 3-0.  The game was scoreless up until the remaining 5 minutes when Salzburg scored.  Salzburg scored again a short time later while VSV was trying to get the equalizer and eventually Salzburg scored in an empty net to end the season for VSV.  Marc finished the season with 14 goals and 17 assists in 48 games.

Feb 21, 2008  Marc scores his 4th goal of this series in a 8-2 home ice victory over Salzburg in game 4.  VSV has now tied the series 2-2 with the final game back in Salzburg on Sunday.  Download a Handicam video of  Marc's goal here.

Feb 19, 2008  Marc scores the insurance goal in today's 3-0 away victory over Salzburg in game 3 of this series.  VSV is down 2 games to 1 and head back home to Villach for game 4.  Download a video of Marc's goal here.

Feb 14, 2008  Marc scores 2 goals in today's first game of the 2008 play off season in Salzburg.  Marc's 2nd goal tied the game 4-4 with just over a minute left which sent the game to overtime.  Salzburg won the game 5-4 in a shoot-out in this best of 5 first round playoff series.  Download a video of Marc's two goals here.

Feb 1, 2008  Marc has 2 assists in a 7-5 victory over Salzburg in today's home game.  This places VSV in 5 position and will play Salzburg in the first round of the Playoffs commencing Feb 14, 2008.
 

Jan 8, 2008  Marc scores once in a 4-3 loss to Vienna in today's away game.

Dec 16, 2007  Marc has 3 assists in another important 5-2 victory over Innsbruck in this away game.

Dec 13, 2007  Marc scores the winning goal and 1 assist in a very important 4-1 victory over the first place club, Vienna, in today's away game. Download a video of Marc's goal here and assist here.

Dec 7, 2007  Marc scores 1 goal in a 4-3 victory versus Alba Volan in their home rink in today's return match.

Dec 2, 2007  Marc has 1 assist in today's 6-3 loss at home in Villach to Alba Volan.  Marc now has 6 goals and 11 assists in 24 games this season.

Nov. 18, 2007  Marc took a slap shot off his foot during a penalty kill against Linz in VSV's 6-4 victory today resulting in a deep bruise and massive swelling.  Marc is expected to miss 3 games and return for Friday's game against Ljubljana on November 30th in Villach.  Lets all hope the recovery goes well as expected.

Nov. 13, 2007  Marc has 1 assist in a 3-1 victory versus Jesenice at home in Villach.  Marc now has 6 goals and 10 assists in 20 games this season.  Download a video of Marc's assist here.

Nov. 11, 2007  Marc has 1 assist in today's 2-1 victory over KAC in this local derby away game in Klagenfurt.  VSV is now 5th place in the 10 team league this season.

Nov. 9, 2007  Marc has 1 goal and 1 assist in a 4-3 victory over Salzburg at home in Villach.  Download a video of Marc's goal and assist here.

Nov. 2, 2007  Marc has 1 goal and 1 assist in today's 3-2 loss to Alba Volan in this away game in Hungary.  Marc now has 5 goals and 7 assists in 16 games this season.

Oct. 23, 2007  Marc has 1 assist in a 7-3 lose to Vienna in today's away game.  VSV has been short key high quality players for 4 games now.  Marc now has 4 goals and 5 assists in 12 games this season.

Oct. 12, 2007  Marc scored his 3rd goal of the season in today's 4-2 loss to Linz in this away game.  Marc now has 3 goals and 3 assists in 8 games.

Oct. 7, 2007  Marc has 1 assist in today's 5-2 victory at home over Innsbruck.  Marc has 2 goals and 3 assists in 6 games.

Sept. 30, 2007  Marc scores 1 as VSV defeats the Graz 99ers 3-2 in todays shoot-out victory at home in Villach.  Marc ends the month of September with 2 goals and 2 assists in 4 games.  Click here to download a video of Marc's goal.

Sept. 23, 2007  1 assist for Marc today as VSV  loose 4-3 in a shoot out against Olimpija in this away game.  Unfortunately, the game score sheet missed his assist.
